Unlike the "capriccios" series this body of work refers to aspects of Swiss life which are hardly of entertaing character. It could be that scenes of similar kind could be found in England, France or Germany, because life in modern industrialised societies forces people into estragenment, loneliness and self-complacency. Still, to me, at least some of the pictures, have a Swiss taste.
